A Pipe bend is a pipe fitting which is used to achieve a change in pipe direction or flow direction.
If a pipe bend with tangent length , it (tangent pipe bend) means this bend has the straight pipe length in the ends. Commonly a hot induction pipe bend should has some straight length in the end , the length of this tangent can be customized as per the piping system design. This tangent length will make it easier for the bend to weld with pipes.
A pipe bend without tangent, means there is no straight length in the end of this bend. it will look like a elbow of different bending radius. Since there is no straight length in the end, the field welding between the bends and the pipes should be taken care.
