Combo Screen - Pulp & Paper Industry

Combo Screen is a reject handling coarse screen which is capable of deflaking the stock with simultaneously cleaning and dewatering impurities from recovered fiber.

Working Principle -

Pulp enters tangentially from inlet, the perforated plate and the impeller fitted at the bottom ensures the cleaning of the stock. The heavy weight impurities are moved outside by rotating against the inlet chamber wall. The inlet chamber needs regular inspection. Due rotation of the rotor rotational flow is created apart from the tangential flow in the inlet chamber. This produces the vortex and with differential pressure. At the top of the inlet chamber, there is orifice plate having an opening at the center. The fiber and the contaminates retained above the perforated plate enters in to core of the vortex and pass through orifice plate in upper zone for further screening.
